Why would you prefer no SLS and SLES for your skin?

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) both ensure that shower gel foams so nicely. These ingredients have the major disadvantage that, in addition to dirt and tallow, they also easily dissolve the natural skin fat. As a result, the barrier function of the skin is disturbed and you suffer from dry, flaky and dehydrated skin.
