Recycled plastic waste is used for the production of the trendy socks. The manufacturer REPREVE® processes plastic bottles that have been collected in landfills and in the oceans and other nylon waste into a particularly flexible yarn. Compared to conventional polyester, REPREVE® uses 45% less energy, emits 30% less CO2 and requires 20% less water in production, while at the same time discarded plastic is used.
